Although my debut novel, Cash Crash Jubilee, was published on May 5th of this year, I still haven’t had an opportunity to throw a proper launch, so before it gets too late, please join me in Yotsuya for a night of literature… and robots.
About Cash Crash Jubilee
Set in a near future cyber-dystopian Tokyo where all actions are intellectual properties owned by corporations that charge licensing fees, Cash Crash Jubilee has been listed by Kirkus Reviews as “gateway science fiction for non-fans” and the Japan Times has called it “as entertaining as the works by American-Canadian science fiction giant William Gibson.” It is the first volume in a three book series called the Jubilee Cycle, and has so far been published as a hardcover, ebook and Audible audiobook, with the paperback due out next year and a possible German translation from Random House in the works.

My book launch will be held at Grotto, a bar and live house less than one minute from Yotsuya Station. Once the guests have arrived, I will give a talk and read from Cash Crash Jubilee in English, before reading briefly from my preliminary Japanese translation of the first chapter. Finally, as a sort of apology for not including any robots in the novel despite the fact that it is science fiction, there will by a brief robot performance. Note that Grotto will remain open until long after the event so those who wish to stick around to chat are welcome to join me. Copies of the hardcover will be available and I’m happy to sign them.
